Fields
Fields are the custom attributes you store on each contact, covering anything beyond name and phone. Mark a field featured to show it as a column on the Active list and use it as a merge tag in messages.
The fields list
Open Contacts → Fields. Each field shows:

| Name | The field's name. |
| Input field | Its merge tag, e.g. @contact.senseofpurpose. |
| Featured | Whether it appears as a column on the Active list. |
| Data type | Text, Select, Number, or Date. |
Add a field
Open the form
Click Add a new field.
Name & type it
Enter a Field Name and pick a Data Type.
Save
Optionally tick Mark as featured, then click Save Changes.

| Text | Free-form text. |
| Select | A choice from a set of options. |
| Number | Numeric values. |
| Date | Calendar dates. |
Mark a field as featured
Featured fields become columns on the Active list. There are two ways to set it:
- Toggle Mark as featured when you add or edit a field.
- Tick the field's Featured column directly in the list.
The Featured column shows a check for fields that are on.
Edit a field
Select a field
Tick a field, then click Edit.
Update it
Change the name, data type, or featured state, then click Save Changes.
Delete a field
Select field(s)
Tick one or more fields.
Delete
Click Delete, then Proceed.
Deleting a field permanently removes it from all your contacts. This can't be undone.
