Fields

Fields are the custom attributes you store on each contact, covering anything beyond name and phone. Mark a field featured to show it as a column on the Active list and use it as a merge tag in messages.

The fields list

Open Contacts → Fields. Each field shows:

NameThe field's name.
Input fieldIts merge tag, e.g. @contact.senseofpurpose.
FeaturedWhether it appears as a column on the Active list.
Data typeText, Select, Number, or Date.

Add a field

Open the form

Click Add a new field.

Name & type it

Enter a Field Name and pick a Data Type.

Save

Optionally tick Mark as featured, then click Save Changes.

SelectA choice from a set of options.
NumberNumeric values.
DateCalendar dates.

Featured fields become columns on the Active list. There are two ways to set it:

  • Toggle Mark as featured when you add or edit a field.
  • Tick the field's Featured column directly in the list.

The Featured column shows a check for fields that are on.

Edit a field

Select a field

Tick a field, then click Edit.

Update it

Change the name, data type, or featured state, then click Save Changes.

Delete a field

Select field(s)

Tick one or more fields.

Delete

Click Delete, then Proceed.

Deleting a field permanently removes it from all your contacts. This can't be undone.
