Conversation Status Guide

Two kinds of status appear across conversations: the flow state (where a conversation is in its lifecycle) and the call status (the outcome of each individual call).

Flow states

A published conversation moves between these states:

StateWhat it means
DraftYour working copy, edited freely and never receiving live traffic.
LiveThe active version handling real conversations right now.
PausedTemporarily stopped with no new conversations starting until it's resumed.
ArchivedA retired version kept for history and reference.

Call outcomes · connected

StatusWhat it means
CompletedThe call connected and ran to the end of the flow.
OngoingThe call is connected and in progress right now.
User HangupConnected, but the contact hung up before the flow finished.

Call outcomes · not connected

StatusWhat it means
MissedThe contact didn't pick up.
BusyThe line was busy.
FailedThe call couldn't be placed.

Call outcomes · pending

StatusWhat it means
QueuedWaiting in line to be placed.
CallingThe call is being placed.
RingingRinging on the contact's phone.

These call statuses drive the Status Over Time chart in a conversation's analytics.
