Contacts & Personalization
Whether you send over the API or from the dashboard, the building blocks are the same, and you can tailor every message to each recipient.
Contacts, groups & sender IDs
| Primitive | What it is |
|---|---|
| Contacts | The people you reach: a name, a phone number, and any custom fields you define. |
| Groups | Collections of contacts you can message as one audience. |
| Sender IDs | The approved name a message is sent from. |
Personalization with @ mentions
Reference contact data inline with @ mentions, and Pindo substitutes the real value per recipient when a message or conversation runs:
| Mention | Resolves to |
|---|---|
| @contact.name | The contact's name. |
| @contact.phone | The contact's phone number. |
| @contact.<field> | Any custom field on the contact. |
The same mentions work in bulk SMS, dashboard campaigns, and conversation flow nodes.
In the dashboard
Managing these day to day happens in the Dashboard docs:
- Active Contacts: add, import, move to groups, and archive contacts.
- Groups: create groups, fill them, and export to CSV.
- Fields: define custom fields and mark them featured.
- Configurations: request and manage sender IDs.
